I’m a Senior UX Designer working on machine learning, mobile applications, and enterprise software. I can’t help but challenge the status quo, seek out inefficiencies, and solve complex problems.
What gets me up in the morning? Knowing I make a difference in the everyday lives of people who use the internet!
Hi, you can call me Macee Jo.
My favorite things about being a UX/UI Designer:
Putting myself in someone else’s shoes
Making research-backed decisions
Creating something visually stunning
Facilitating creative collaboration
Designing small moments and the big picture
Iterating. Iterating. Iterating.
My past experience
Undergrad:
Where it all started
I landed a work study job in my undergrad where I learned the Adobe Suite and designed programs for the Fine Arts department. I honed my creative leadership style by directing and producing multiple musicals with my peers.
Early career:
Where it all started (again)
As a digital marketer and graphic designer in a corporate setting, I explored my curiosity of data and logic by wearing many hats. From leading a website redesign, to rebranding two brands, to defining content strategy, I learned a ton.
Transition:
Where I bet on myself
I wasn’t satisfied designing things that didn’t get tested and evaluated for effectiveness, so I left my job and completed a six-month intensive UX course. I learned the principles of UX and UI design, and put them to use on a real client project.
Currently:
Where it all came together
As a lead UX Designer at a marketing and branding agency, I love collaborating with my teammates, conducting user research, wireframing solutions, and handing off UI designs to development. The pace is fast, but that’s just how I like it!
As a former theatre artist and director turned digital marketer and graphic designer, I’m a storyteller and leader at heart. I’m thankful to have found my way to UX/UI Design.
Outside the Office
I love hiking
As a Colorado native turned city dweller, I crave the outdoors, so I pretty much take any opportunity to go out there and climb stuff including the Alps, Mayan ruins, and the Great Wall of China.

I have lots of hobbies
When I’m not traveling I’m exercising my skills as an avid hobby-hopper. I rotate through my many hobbies including playing guitar, watercolor painting, hand lettering, building things, and paper crafting.
